Over the years by returning and living long term in Costa Rica, Ireni`s life transformed as she adapted a conscious living and ecological lifestyle that also led to the practice of yoga and yoga philosophy. She founded the Eco Body yoga dance , practicing and creating directly in nature. She is a certified instructor from the Rasa School of Yoga and studied with senior teachers Angela Boltz (Vinyasa Flow) and Carolina Vivas (Power Yoga).
She has taken workshops in Spiritual Development with Paula Tursi (Reflections Yoga -New York), the Gaia Yoga school in Quebec, Canada, and Astanga with Shankara from Sattva Yoga Shala studio, Montreal,Quebec .
Ireni brings to her teaching a practice that incorporates anatomical references, breath awareness, alignment, and heart opening asana sequences with a dance like flow.
Poetic, spiritual, and joyously spontaneous Ireni encourages everyone's perfect place in the universe and in themselves. She balances technique with improvisation, presence with imagination, devotion, discipline and commitment, science with artfulness, mindfulness and playfulness in the studio and in nature.
“My yoga path truly began in the sacred rivers and deep ocean wildlife calls of Costa Rica. Suspending my life off the trees.
Enveloped in a living paradise ,challenged by tropical storms, and hurricanes demanding me to completely let go. Isolated in a remote fishing village without immediate neighbours, telephone and internet in my beachshack for two years...the universal call to face oneself and the cry of the soul to awaken began. I dove into my yoga training like the sages of thousands of years ago, into the cave of my own being , taking off layers to arrive at the core of my own heart. In my yoga journey I am an eternal student and caring teacher. I integrate my love for dance, spiritual philosophy and poetry to my practice and teaching, all that resonates deeply within me and aligns with divinity.”
